Oral Hygiene Guide with Dr. Pallos

Brushing your teeth is one of the most important habits of maintaining good personal hygiene. Most dentists recommend that you brush twice a day and floss your teeth at least once a day. Other recommend to brush and floss after every meal. That would be a little difficult for some of us that are constantly on the go or happen to work a lot, but the general idea is to brush your teeth as often as possible. Call Dr. Andrew Pallos at (949) 315-7055, to find out more about proper brushing technique.

Proper brushing is essential for cleaning teeth and gums effectively. Use a toothbrush with soft, nylon, round-ended bristles that will not scratch and irritate teeth or damage gums.

Remember to replace your toothbrush every three to four months. Researchers have established that thousands of microbes grow on toothbrush bristles and handles. Most are harmless, but others can cause cold and flu viruses, the herpes virus that causes cold sores, and bacteria that can cause periodontal infections.
